Shannon traces her love of design to her upbringing in the Craftsman bungalow of her grandparents in Santa Barbara. Raised among artists and gardeners, she was exposed to a city rich in history, architecture and striking natural beauty which continues to inform her design sensibility.

Year's later, time spent in her father's Berkeley home brought more opportunities to appreciate architecture, particularly the work of Bernard Maybeck and the writings of Christopher Alexander who both emphasized an intentional and regional approach to design.

In 1974, Shannon settled in Washington state to raise her son and daughter. She founded John Henry Kitchen & Bath Design in 1991, and ultimately earned the Master Kitchen & Bath Designer certification from the National Kitchen & Bath Association. She has had the privilege of working with some of the region's most talented and dedicated architects, builders, designers, craftspeople and artists for over 27 years.

Shannon creates elegant, livable interiors, relying on her refined taste, product knowledge, collaborators, and most importantly the participation of her clients.
