The design process should follow a format of well-informed decision-making, thorough planning and finally professional and timely execution. This process offers a unique opportunity for self-expression and I want my clients to enjoy and savor the privilege of making choices that will support and enhance the activity and use of their homes.
My job is to present designs that respond to the expressed desires of my client and to make recommendations that are consistent with the space and budget established, while incorporating the elements of design, function and safety. To reach this goal we explore the possibilities, sifting through the maze of options available today. I then bring my knowledge, experience and, yes, opinions, to the table and together we create the final design.
My personal design philosophy is influenced by the principles of "wabi sabi" and knowing when to stop. Preferring natural/sustainable materials, well- engineered and environmentally sensitive appliances, quality not quantity, and real stuff for real life.
